1980s Burny (Japan) RLC-65 3-Pickup Les Paul-Style Electric Guitar

Overview: I'm not sure whether this is the RLC-65 or RLC-75 model, but I expect it's the 65 as that's the one that shares more Gibson-correct appointments as far as I can tell. This is basically a copycat of a '50s Les Paul "Black Beauty" with 3 pickups, gold hardware, and fancy-trim binding and inlay. It's Japanese-made, likely from the mid-late '80s, and is in overall good health but it was definitely used as a player's guitar and shows use throughout.

Tone: It's that classic Les Paul vibe with a big, forward, mids attack and wide-sounding palette -- and the position switch works like 3-pickup SGs from the early '60s -- neck "normal," middle+bridge "out of phase," and bridge "normal." I would be happy to rewire it or change it per the customer's preferences but this is a pretty "traditional" voicing, as it were.

Feel: The neck cut, feel, heft, and board radius are all very-much like a late-'50s Gibby profile -- medium C and with a 10" radius.

Interesting features: The gold hardware (now aged) is a nice touch and the proliferation of multi-ply binding is eye-catching as well. It's built to a good spec.

Repairs included: Jose gave it a level/dress of the frets, restring, and setup and it's playing spot-on and ready to serve.

Condition notes: The bridge is a fresh Gotoh replacement (wrong color) because the original one had a damaged side wall (it's stowed in the case). One knob is a replacement. The straplock buttons are also likely replacements. It's otherwise original throughout. There are mild-medium scratches, scuffs, etc. throughout but it, overall, has a relaxed but cleaner look. The fret-end binding "nibs" are looking pretty worn.

It comes with: It has an older hard case.
