1980s Burny (Japan) RTV-55 Doublecut Les Paul Jr-Style Electric Guitar

Overview: Heck yes -- this is just what it looks like -- a faithfully-appointed, great-looking, LP Jr doublecut copycat. Burny guitars are getting relentlessly popular in the vintage market alongside Greco and the like and this model, in this color, is relatively hard to find. This one has also been modded a bit to make it a gig-winner as it has an adjustable stoptail-style bridge along with a Lollar P90 that's replaced the original.

Tone: It's snarly, biting, midsy, and has plenty of attack.

Feel: The neck is very much in the Gibson vein but has a slightly-shallower board radius than vintage models. It's got a fast, C-shaped profile and excellent fret access.

Interesting features: The color, for one, is outstanding. It's also got a Lollar P90 under the hood and an upgraded bridge.

Repairs included: Jose gave it a fresh level/dress of the frets, restring, and full setup and it's playing bang-on and ready to serve.

Condition notes: The strap buttons are replaced, the pickup is replaced, and the bridge is replaced. It has the "ghost" of a sticker below the bridge in the top finish but it's not obvious. There are small scratches, scuffs, and signs of use here and there throughout. There's an unfilled hole at the back of the heel from where a strap button used to be installed.

It comes with: It has a good hard case that's beat-up but perfectly functional.
