1998 Martin Concept J "Prismatic" Jumbo Guitar

 

This is a local customer's Concept J -- a Martin jumbo model that was meant to be "tres moderne" -- and it is! It's got a "holographic" or "prismatic" finish which color-changes from a metallic blue to a metallic purple (yeah, that's not reflections of the stair color) as you turn the guitar to different angles.

This one was just in for a setup, recently, but was so cool that I had to take some pics. It's solid spruce over solid maple, has an ebony board and bridge, and fancy, modern-looking pearl trim. The nut and saddle are GraphTech and it has gold hardware.
