2010s G&L ASAT Electric Guitar w/Rio Grande Pickups

Overview: Ever since I played my first G&L ASAT (an '80s one with the funny hammered-black paint on the hardware) many moons ago, I've thought they were very cool guitars. I've always been a Tele fan but the various upgrades and "expansive"-sounding G&L pickups are enticing. I also like the modified look, too, with its longer pickguard shape. It's familiar but different. Anyhow, this one is more recent (I didn't pop the neck to check the exact date, but it's definitely 2010s-era) and in excellent shape. Its owner swapped pickups to Rio Grande replacements which almost give a bit of a DynaSonic or Jazzmaster sort-of shimmer to the instrument, though the originals are safely stowed in the case.

Tone: It's clean, bright, balanced, and full-sounding.

Feel: The neck is quick, modern, and easy with a typical Fender-style 1 5/8" nut width. If you're used to playing newer Fenders, you'll be used to playing this guy. It's home base territory...

Interesting features: The Rio Grande replacement pickups are really the only changeup -- and they sound excellent and hi-fi in their own way. The originals (in the case) are available if one wants to swap back to the more bell-like G&L sound, but I like the way these Rio Grandes sound a bit more vintagey, too.

Repairs included: I just needed to dial-in the setup a bit. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: It's very clean with perhaps only the lightest of playwear here and there. I don't see anything that sticks-out. The owner of this takes care of his guitars and so I wasn't surprised to see it in such good shape.

It comes with: It's got its original hard case and comes with the original pickups tucked into it.
