1890s Elias Howe Parlor Guitar

Our friend Dennis brought this beautiful old Howe guitar in for consignment some weeks ago. It already had some work done to it but it badly-needed a level/dress of the frets and some saddle work and setup. Between Jose and Sarah that work got done and before I even had a chance to take photos it sold in-shop and I snagged photos of it on the way out the door.

Suffice to say, it's a nice little guy with gorgeous Brazilian rosewood on the back and sides. I'm pretty sure this was made by Haynes/Bay State for the Howe brand due to its various features, but I am not 100% sure on that. The bridge, nut, saddle, and pins are all replacements but the rest appears original throughout.

Ordinarily I would string these with nylon/gut strings as that was what was intended when it was built, but the owner had it strung with steel for years and years (in extra light gauge) and the guitar was not protesting, so we restrung it and set it up for 46w-10 extra light steel during setup as well.
