1950s Carvin 7-BG Electric Bass Guitar

How cool is this thing? It's a '50s Carvin electric bass guitar that mirrors the look of their electric guitars of the time. It has two tone controls (with different-value caps on them) and a volume control, odd plastic tailpiece, a bolted neck, and a guitar-length scale.

It arrived in great shape save that it needed a good setup, some extra grinding into the bridge to compensate it better, and a ground wire added to the bridge. These Carvins are odd products but very, very cool both in looks and feel.

It's got a maple body and neck, ebonized (Harmony) fretboard, and is mostly original save for one polepiece at the pickup. The tuners at the headstock might be repros as well. It's rare to see the original plastic tailpiece still in place, too.
