2001 Martin DX1 Dreadnought Guitar

Overview: This is an early-on DX1 and was made in the States. It's got a solid spruce top over "laminate" back and sides which, I think, are closer to masonite in form and function. Despite that, it sounds alarmingly-good and handles well. X-series instruments are made to a budget but their design is good and they are excellent players when dialed-in.

Tone: It's big-sounding and warm, with a quick and punchy attack.

Feel: The neck is a slim C with a tiny hair of V to its rear feel. The board has a flatter, 16" radius like most Martins. It's a quick-feeling neck.

Interesting features: The Richlite (I think) bridge and fretboard feel nice and look slick. The Spartan trim -- no binding, a simple ring rosette, and no face dots -- tells you all about the intent of the instrument: it's a player first and a looker, second.

Repairs included: I gave it a quick setup and restring. It's playing spot-on and ready to serve.

Condition notes: There are three rather distinct dings in the top -- two the treble side of the pickguard and  one just above and to the left of the bass bridge wing.  All are filled but discolored compared to the rest of the top. Otherwise the instrument is relatively clean but does show minor handling-use throughout.

It comes with: I've probably got an old hard case to fit.
