2010s Partscaster Bound Telecaster Electric Guitar
Overview: This guy is not what it appears to be. At first glance it looks like a rawk version of a Tele. Once you've got it under the microscope, though, it becomes clear that this is a body and neck that are Asian-manufactured -- the body reminds me of the lightweight, bound bodies that Guitar Fetish used to sell some years ago. It has high-quality hardware (Kahler trem), tuners, fittings, and pickups throughout, but the neck (despite being nice and quick) is Fender in name only and likely Asian-import.
Tone: As you'd expect for a double-humbucker guitar, it's got girth and punch but without the sloppiness you might expect from an overwound bucker set intended for singing distortion. It's more classic and clear-sounding than that.
Feel: It's got a pretty typical modern, import-style feel to the neck -- slim C, with the old-fashioned 1 5/8" nut width but a shallow, 16" board radius that is closer to shredder-style guitar than a traditional Fender-style feel.
Interesting features: The black hardware is all high-contrast with the buttery-yellow body color. It has a Kahler trem/bridge setup, Planet Waves locking tuners, big frets, and is lightweight to boot.
Repairs included: Ancel gave this a fret level/dress and good setup. It's now playing spot-on and ready to serve.
