1920s Slingerland MayBell 8" Rim Banjo Ukulele
Overview: I've worked on a ton of old Slingerland-branded banjo ukes and, I think, most of them were made by Regal for the company. This is a nicer-grade one with a bigger, 8" head, rugged hardware, and simple hoop tonering. It has a good, poppy, nicely-loud voice and easy handling after work. The wider-than-normal head gives it a bit more warmth.
Interesting features: I like the one-piece, turned resonator! The little diamond inlays in the fretboard are a nice touch, too. It's also hard not to like the stamped "MayBell" at the headstock. The neck brace and rim hardware are all heavy-duty.
Repairs included: It's had a level/dress of the frets, side dots added, cleaning, and setup work done. Ancel did the work and it's ready to go!

Condition notes: It has medium wear and tear throughout via edge rubbing, scratches, nicks, dings, and whatnot. The hardware all shows age to its nickel-plating and the finish has some discoloration here and there. The head is a replacement skin one and done by the last owner. The resonator is likely non-original but period. Someone replaced the nut ages ago. Note that this still has original friction pegs and, now and then, they need to be tightened to keep them working as best as possible (just like violin pegs). I do have geared Tune-A-Lele pegs on hand (black plastic) if the next owner wants them fit instead.
It comes with: Sorry, no case.
