1920s Stromberg-Voisinet (Kay) 8" Rim Resonator Banjo Ukulele

This cute old Kay/SV-made banjo-uke is a model type that I've worked on at least a dozen times now. It's owned by the granddaughter of the original owner (as I recall) and she brought it in for service. It needed a new head (which I reused from a '20s banjo head), fret level/dress, side dots, cleaning, a new bridge, and setup work -- all of which it got while they waited! How about that?

Anyhow, as per the usual for this model, it's got a nice, poppy voice that can cut easily. Because they tend to be a little over-ringy, I usually stuff a bit of foam between the dowel and the head to cut down on overtones, too.
