1943 Epiphone Olympic Archtop Guitar
This is a guitar I worked-on back in 2018 and so it's essentially a repost. Check out the original blog post for full details (click here).
Suffice to say, it was back in the shop for a level/dress job on the frets and the old reset done to the neck failed at some point (it was not my work) so I re-reset it with some additional bolt reinforcement at the neckblock hidden internally. I fixed some damaged binding, too, and now it's back to being a spot-on player and, per the usual for wartime Epiphones, sounds alarmingly-good.
It has a carved, poplar top which is something I adore on old Epis. They have their own, woody, warmer sound as compared to the "normal" spruce-topped versions of the same guitars.
