1960s Silvertone 1204 (Harmony) Parlor Guitar
Overview: A customer brought this in along with a number of other instruments and I was surprised to see work had been done on it in the past in the form of a replacement bridge. These shipped from the factory with a bolted-on, classical-looking bridge and it's no surprise to me that someone swapped it with a Martin-style one. The original design is terrible. Anyhow, this Silvertone 1204 is a Harmony H929 Stella model with the only difference being their "factory original" pin-style bridge setup rather than a tailpiece setup and, of course, the script at the headstock.
Interesting features: Like the H929s, this guy has the charm of being a student-grade, woody-sounding, little-bodied, cozy creature that you don't have to take too seriously. It's the sort-of "everyone's beginner guitar" of the '50s and '60s that is both ubiquitous and also cool when fixed-up and playing well.
Repairs included: Jose did a nice job bringing this one up to snuff. It got a neck reset, fret level/dress, new bone saddle, and setup work. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.
