1968 Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar
The leading digit on the serial number is dinged-in but this dates to either '68 or '69 and the owner, who's had it ages, thinks it's a first-year-of-reissue build. Aside from the initial run of Les Pauls, these first-reissue models are the next wave of collector crazy and their prices have gone through the roof.
This one shows tons of loving wear -- looking respectable and played-in -- and sounds tremendous when you've got it put into a gainy amp. It has a replaced tuner (hilariously-enough with Epiphone branding) and an old (unsurprising) headstock repair, but it's going strong and plays beautifully after a level/dress and setup job from, I think, Jose.
It's still an anchor when played on a strap, but, folks... what an anchor!
