1990s Gibson Blues Hawk Semihollow Electric Guitar
This beaut was sent-in for consignment but our workshop's resident electric guitar setup champ, Sarah, is snagging it for herself. I can see why! The body is roughly Les Paul-sized but it's extremely lightweight and comfortable on the shoulder with a strap. It's got a long, Fender-style scale length which gives it a snappy sound.
The pickups are clean and crisp and chimey when you want them to be and a little badass and raunchy when driven -- they're non-adjustable poles P90-style pickups like you'd have on late-'40s P90 designs and so they sound largely like DynaSonics. It's an interesting guitar because it's a very Fendery-styled design but it definitely handles like a Gibson.
I like!
Note the "one nickel tooth" among the tuners -- these "Gibson Deluxe" tuners always tend to wear-out and come apart in the strangest ways. Luckily, we had some random spares of the same types in our parts bins.
