1950s Premier (United) Jumbo Archtop Electric Guitar

This big old rascal was made by United in New Jersey for the Premier (Multivox) brand. It's currently modified to a lefty format but "you get the gist" as far as how it would have looked in a righty configuration. The bridge is swapped-out but the rest appears to be original to the guitar save for the wiring harness and perhaps the black pickup surround at the neck.

The owner had it in for a refret and setup work and a bit of shuffling-around of his volume and tone controls (he'd had them pickguard-mounted where they got in the way a lot). Anyhow, Ancel did a great job with the frets and the setup and I just mucked-about with the controls a bit. It's turned into a spiffy player with a distinct look (especially when its lefty owner is playing it with the cutaway "face-side").

These Premiers look a little on the funky side but their necks feel great and their original pickups usually sound pretty hip. This one has a relaxed but clean and clear vibe going on when you plug it in.
