1980s/2011 Fender/Hand Partscaster Strat-Style Electric Guitar
Overview: This mongrel is a strange mix of bits that were assembled by JP Thomas of Hand Guitars in 2011. This is when his guitar company was getting some press on the web and at NAMM as well. It has an '80s Fender Japan ST-57 Strat body and the hardware and bridge off of an early-'80s The Strat as well. The neck appears more modern and has the Hand stamp on it. I'm assuming JP acquired that and modified it to suit the aesthetic of the guitar -- giving it a "gold-leaf-look" headstock finish, even!
Interesting features: Soundwise, it's very much a classic Strat palette and it sounds very '60s. Looks-wise, it's very '80s in the body with its The Strat, big old gold bridge and matching knobs. It even has the original trem arm for the unit, too. The pickguard is aged and the headstock finish appears a little aged as well, giving it a good, easy-to-live-with look.
Repairs included: Sarah gave it a level/dress of the frets and set it all up. It's playing spot-on and ready to go!
