1995 Fender Japan Deluxe Nashville Telecaster Electric Guitar
Overview: This guy arrived here as part of a trade deal from a friend of mine. I'd done some work on it in the past -- a level/dress of the frets and a setup -- but the owner was playing a lot of gigs down in salty Florida seaside places at the time and so it arrived back playing well but needing some sprucing-up to get it to its best again. Now that it is, it's a fun squeeze -- mixing familiar Strat tones with a Hot Rails bucker in the bridge for a SuperStrat/SuperTele layout.
Interesting features: It's got a lot of finish wear and tear -- big, long finish cracks and checking all over -- and a lot of oxidation and plating wear on the hardware, too, which gives it an overall lived-in, loved-in look. I mean, I know it was lived-in and loved-in because I've known the guitar for about 10 years, now, off and on. This is one of those FotoFlame Fenders from the '90s that has a "flamed look" sort-of printed over the wood. In this case, it's got a flamed-maple look all over the guitar, top to bottom. That, combined with the now-aged pearloid pickguard, gives it an eye-catching look from across the room.
Repairs included: Previously, I'd given it a level/dress of the frets and setup work. This time around it needed a bunch of cleaning, three replacement saddles (bass side, the old ones were too rusted-out for reuse), a replacement knob (I had an old brass one to use), replacement switch tip (the Strat-style ones hug the post better), and a fresh setup. It's playing spot-on, has an easy-peasy classic Fender feel, and is ready to go.

Condition notes: As noted, there is a lot of finish wear all over the body in long finish cracks and weather-checking throughout. The neck is pretty clean. All of the hardware shows some amount of tarnish. The switch tip, one knob, the strap buttons, and the bridge pickup are all replacements but older. The original Tele bridge pickup was swapped for a Duncan Hot Rails Tele-style bridge pickup. Yes, this model had two Strat-style pickups rather than the more-normal Tele+Strat in neck and middle.
It comes with: It's got a gigbag, as I recall.
