2000s Giacomel Jazz 5 Carved-Top Archtop Mandolin

Overview: I have to admit that I crush pretty hard on Giacomel Corrado instruments. They're absolutely sexy. This one is absolutely sexy. It handles like a better Gibson F-5 and looks tremendous -- deco-style, German-carve, extremely-high-quality, Italian styling, dear lordie...! Can you tell I'm sold? It has Thomastik flatwound strings on it at the moment and so the tone in the demo video is excellent but a little mellower than it would be with roundwounds. The intonation on the wound As is also just a little bit off from normal unwound As would be -- it's not the mandolin, it's the strings!

Interesting features: The stylized "scroll," the multi-ply binding the recurve carve to the top and back, the considered lines... everything is classy. This one is also quite clean but it has been out in the world a bit and has just a few light scratches. The frets are still in good shape and we haven't leveled/dressed them as they don't need it. The sound is full, clean, round, and it has plenty of cut and volume to spare.

Repairs included: I gave it a quick setup a year or two ago and it's still playing spot-on.
