2014 Reverend Bob Balch Prototype No 2 Electric Guitar
Overview: This guitar was prototype number 2 for the run of the Bob Balch signature model and it was actually owned by Bob (of Fu Manchu) for a time. The current owner asked and it was confirmed. The only significant difference between this guitar and production models appears to be that the production models have a gloss finish while this one is satin.
Interesting features: It's got a pair of Railhammer Bob Balch signature pickups, a trans-orange satin finish that pops-out like a '70s muscle car, and simple, functional appointments. I always really enjoy the bass rolloff knob (third knob) on Reverends because it lets you go from the big sound of these buckers right down to an almost Stratty or Tele-like or '60s Vox-like sound that's useful for "faux acoustic" or "strummed" or lightly-surfy stuff without killing the tone of the guitar.
Repairs included: It just needed a quick setup and it's playing spot-on and ready to go.
