2013 Fender John Mayer Stratocaster Electric Guitar

Overview: The John Mayer Artist Series Strat is made in the USA and has a mix of vintage and modern features. The overall build is pretty-much a classic late-'60s or early-'70s influenced Strat design but it has some changes that make it its own beastie. This one has a nice look with "mint on cream" pickguard and finish colors and a nicely-contrasting rosewood fretboard.

Interesting features: Unlike a general, proper '60s vintage Strat, the nut width is 1 11/16" compared to 1 5/8" and the board radius is 9 1/2" instead of 7 1/4" and that makes for a guitar that plays a bit more like a modern instrument but with a bit of vintage feel to it. The pickups are Strat-style single coils and Fender calls these "Big Dipper" models. They have a mids-scoop sound to them, supposedly, and I do hear that in that the tone when driven is a bit less "springy" or "snappy" when you dig-in. It's a bit mellower and sweeter but still sparkly on top.

Repairs included: This one just got a quick setup. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

It comes with: It's got a gigbag but its whammy bar is missing. The current setup has the whammy fairly tightened-down but I can set it up as per desired by the next owner.
