1924 Weymann Style 60 Tenor Harp
Overview: Tenor harps are a name promoted by Lange for its Paramount version of this instrument. What we have here, basically, is a banjo-shaped tenor guitar. It's extremely lightweight and lightly-built and, due to the way it's built, it's also very loud and cutting. It can definitely keep-up just fine with a lot of actual tenor banjos but has a woodier, more mandolin-like voicing due to its build, of course. This Weymann Style 60 has a serial number that roughly correlates to 1924 and it's in rather good shape for its age, though it does show its years a bit.
Interesting features: What isn't wild about this thing? It has rosewood binding, a stairstep, resonator-back construction with a top of a smaller diameter and set in from the sides, cute purfling, and quality woods used throughout. The top is solid spruce and ladder-braced while the rest is solid mahogany. The fretboard is rosewood and it has a modern, cut-down maple/ebony tenor banjo bridge. It still has 3 of its original geared pegs but one of the original 4 has been replaced with an older friction peg.
Repairs included: I'd given this a level/dress of the frets and setup a year or two ago and it arrived back here playing just as it left -- quick and easy and ready to run with.

Condition notes: It has a small portion of bondo-like fill at the soundhole (someone was an aggressive picker, I suppose). One of the four original tuners is missing and a replacement is in its place. There's the usual light scratching here and there throughout the body as well as minor scuffs and nicks, too. I'm not sure if the tailpiece is original but it is period and works nicely.
It comes with: It's got a good gigbag.
