1927 Vega Vegaphone Resonator Tenor Banjo
Overview: Man, they don't come much cleaner than this beaut... or as practical! This is trad-jazz ready with a clear mylar head (so you can peek the innards and keep up with the brass), geared tuners, and plenty of get-up-and go volume and snap.
Interesting features: The "pie plate" resonator with its flamed-maple wedges looks fantastic. Add to that a heavy-duty, multi-ply rim and its Tubaphone ("Vegaphone") tonering and accompanying hardware and you've got a professional, engine-room sort-of instrument. It's also got tortoise binding at every edge on the rim.
Repairs included: Jose gave it a level/dress of the frets and thorough setup. It's playing spot-on and ready to serve.
