1966 Hagstrom II Rubber-Bridge Mod Electric Guitar

This cool old Hagstrom has been living in the shop, disassembled, for ages. Ancel had leveled and dressed the frets almost a year ago (or longer) and then it sat because its neck pickup needed rewinding. I gave up on that, eventually -- because I attempted the rewind 6 or 7 times but because of the super-tight (and damaged) bobbin, it was too much suffering to bother with. Fast-forward to the owner supplying a Duncan Antiquity Strat pickup, and the job was ready to move forward!

Aside from minor wiring work (Ancel added a new jack and snipped the tone controls out of the circuit) and the fretwork and setup, this also got a set of flatwound strings and he converted the bridge to an adjustable (up/down) rubber bridge setup. The extra-bright bridge pickup almost gives a muted snare sound when strumming and the neck pickup gives the normal, sweet, easy-to-live-with rubber bridge sound.
