2001 Epiphone Sheraton Semihollow Electric Guitar

Overview: Back when I was hunting for my "first good electric guitar" in '01 I was stuck between choosing one of these Epi Sheratons or a Fender Mexico Telecaster. I wound-up with the Tele (but not in the Agave Blue I wanted) but I always thought these Sheratons from this period were darn-good guitars. It's Korean-made, the neck is cozy and fast, the pickups are mellow and full-sounding, and the handling is -- as you'd expect -- like a 335. It's original throughout except for a new jack I put in and it's still looking good after all this time, save that the plating shows its years of use.

Interesting features: The translucent-tortoise pickguard is a nice touch. The hardware all seems good-quality and heavy duty, too. It has quite-fancy, multi-ply trim and big-block, Guild-like inlay in the neck as well.

Repairs included: Sarah gave it a level/dress of the frets, a setup, and cleaning and I replaced a bad original jack with a new Switchcraft one. It's playing bang-on and ready to go.
