2002 Gibson L-200 Emmylou Harris Signature 00-Size Guitar
Overview: This guitar has a colorful backstory, but suffice to say it's one of the smaller batch of signed L-200 models, with the label signed by Emmylou herself. It's a gorgeous guitar, with a curvy, scaled-down, J-200-like body with 00-size proportions. It's got a solid spruce top over solid, highly-figured maple back and sides, and all of the J-200 appointments you could want. This particular guitar spent a bit of time in the damp (especially on the back, lower bout), and shows it in its looks, but Ancel has done a tremendously good job putting it back together and making it a solid player. Since repairs, it's been opening-up and sounding better every day, too. I love when that happens!
Interesting features: Of course, the J-200 looks in a smaller format is a huge plus -- it's pretty. It's also built to a high spec, with fancy wood throughout. The back, sides, and neck have flamed maple from head to toe and it's got the big-block pearl inlay in both the board and bridge, with pearl dots inlaid in the pickguard, too. It has plenty of charming wear and tear which gives it a friendly, ready-to-roll sort-of vibe.
Repairs included: It's had a bunch of back/side seam repairs, reglued braces, and binding repair at the headstock. The bridge got a reglue and it got a neck reset, fret level/dress, new bone saddle, and setup work. Small other work was done, too -- all by Ancel -- and it's now playing spot-on and is ready to serve and the repairs are all healthy and good to go.

Condition notes: The finish is weather-checked everywhere but I have found no actual cracks. The headstock has some replacement binding on its top edge and the finish was essentially gone on the headstock so Ancel cleaned it up a bit and put a light clearcoat on. The nibs at the fretboard binding have survived. The pickguard's stenciling has worn-off from pickwear in its lower half. There's a bit of wear and tear to the top wood in the same area, too. It appears to be original throughout save for the replacement (new) bone saddle. There's a bunch of moisture damage (darkening) to the finish at the endblock/lower-bout-rear area and also a bit around the heel and the heel's joint-edges, too. If you like a "lived-in" look, this one has it in spades.
It comes with: It has its original hard case, as I recall.
