2016 National Koa Concert Resonator Ukulele

Overview: I'm a fan of the newer National ukulele line. They're expensive but they're beautifully-made and thought-out very well. I've owned a couple of the old metal-bodied ones from the '20s (which are a completely different animal) and these newer, woodbody Nationals are much more "ukulele-like" in the way they feel in the hand (and as applies to the weight). They're a win -- both lightweight, loud, and sweet in sound (though with the characteristic National snap of that resonator cone).

Interesting features: This one has solid, figured koa throughout its body, a mahogany neck, and rosewood fretboard. The tortoise binding looks snazzy against it and there are nice, 4:1 geared Gotoh pegs at the headstock. Under the hood is the usual National uke cone with a maple biscuit bridge.

Repairs included: I gave it a glorified setup -- just had to tweak the cone seating, saddle profiling, and whatnot. It currently has low-G strings on it but I would be happy to restring to high-G if desired. It would have a little bit of a sparklier tone with fluorocarbon strings vs. the Nylgut that's on it. It's playing spot-on and ready to serve.
