1930s/1950s Richter/Harmony Rubber Bridge Electrified Parlor Guitar

Overview: I originally whipped this up for a local player but he traded-out for a different-style rubber-bridger from the shop later-on and this has been hanging-around ever since awaiting a little time to get some photos and a video to get it listed. I also went back and replaced a static rubber bridge with the new style I've been using -- the rubber saddle can rise, archtop-bridge-style, to allow for action adjustments. It's a lot more practical for day-to-day handling.

Interesting features: It's a "mated" guitar, with a 1930s Richter-made birch body with "folk musician" stencil work and a 1950s Harmony-made Silvertone guitar neck. These came from a guitar with a wrecked neck and a guitar with a wrecked body. We win! I've fit a modern, lipstick-style pickup to it with a simple wiring scheme (just a volume control). It has an endpin-style jack. While I usually fit roundwound strings, this guy has flatwound strings on it per the request of the original owner.

Repairs included: I repaired (and re-repaired) a ton of cracks all over the body, reglued some of the bracing, and fit the neck to the body. It's not a fancy or pretty job, as the goal was to make this entire thing at a low cost for the original buyer so he could rock it on stage. It is quite functional and the end result plays spot-on and is ready to serve, however!

The tuners are nice, new, Gotoh units. As noted, it's a "mated" instrument -- neck from one, body from another, and modded.

It comes with: Sorry, no case.
