1956 Gretsch Duo Jet Solidbody Electric Guitar
Overview: Heck, yes! An old Duo Jet in "Firebird Red?" Who can resist? While played-in, this one is in overall great shape and those original DeArmond DynaSonic pickups are the bee's knees. This guy has the sound of a ton of old records ringing in my ears the moment I pick it up and jack it in. It's also easy on the eyes! I have always liked the outline of Duo Jets -- they've got good lines and, if you're comparing to something like a Les Paul, I find the wider body and waist make them way more comfortable in the lap when sitting-down as it "grabs" the legs more.
Interesting features: While it's pretty-much a stock affair, the bridge topper was swapped-out for a modern, compensated version of the Space Control bridge -- a bonus if you like to have your notes true up the neck. It's also missing its pickguard, unfortunately.
Repairs included: Previous repairmen gave this guitar a neck reset and the new bridge topper/saddles, but in-shop Sarah gave it a level/dress of the frets and set it up. It's playing spot-on and ready to serve.

Condition notes: Overall, it looks great. When you get closer to it, you can see mild wear and tear to the top finish throughout and some finish-crack stuff going on at the back of the neck. The back of the body shows light scratches, nicks, and dings (especially at the edges) here and there. The Gretsch-logo knobs may be later replacements (1957s, suggests the owner) but the rest of the hardware (save the swapped bridge top) appears original. It is, as noted, missing its pickguard.
It comes with: It has an unoriginal hard case.
