1963 Lyric 660 (Magnatone 262) 35w 2x12" Tube Amp Combo
For those not in the know, these Lyric 660s are a rebrand of the more-usual Magnatone 262/260 models.
This is a superb amp and I lost almost 2 hours when I fired it up in the evening for the first time. If you like clean and singing with a classic and interesting voice that you can't quite place, this will do! It does get raucous (driven) as you get towards the upper half of its volume knob, but at that point it's dang loud. The tremolo/vibrato circuit sounds just as good as you'd expect, too. Its transformer has a 1963 date code and so I'd expect that's when it was made. As I recall, this model went through about 1965.
It's mostly-original but does have replacement speakers, replacement tubes, a 3-prong cable installed, and some caps swapped-out. It's serviced and ready to go. There's some wear and tear to the tolex here and there but it's pretty crisp, to be honest, for its age. The metal hardware and chassis shows some rust at its edges where the finish flaked-off but is overall looking good.
