2023 Epiphone J-180 LS Jumbo Guitar

Overview: I had no idea that Epi was making these newer J-180 clones. This is a nice-sounding guitar and it has a good feel balance to it. Just like the originals, the body proportions and outline are just about perfect for a "small jumbo" flattop guitar and the big, country-style pickguard and Everly-style star inlays in the fretboard are stage-worthy bling to have

Interesting features: The black finish is nice and striking and, as noted, it's got giant stars to catch the eye. This guy has a long scale and is built in spruce over mahogany, so it's not that strange that it sounds a bit like a woodier version of an OM-18 to my ears. It still has that Gibson mids thing going on, though, which is good news if you like to chug chords all night long.

Repairs included: This got a quick setup and is playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: The saddle is fairly low on the bridge, though this is the most humid time of the year for us right now and it's likely that it won't need further summer adjustments down on the action height -- just shimming-up for winter dryness in the future.

It comes with: It has its original, purple-lined, hard case.
