1940s Harmony H928 Stella Parlor Guitar

Overview: I'm not exactly sure when this particular H928 was made as the date stamp is fuzzed-out, but its features suggest late '30s into '40s considering those original tuners and the neck shape and tailpiece style. These cream-colored Stellas are identical in construction to the more-usual H929 model but are a lot harder to find out in the wild.

Interesting features: Per the usual, the body is all solid birch throughout. It's ladder-braced and has a tailpiece setup with a short scale. Because the bracing is on the lighter side, these guitars have more volume, punch, and snap than you'd otherwise expect -- especially when strung with a normal set of 12s. They're perfect country-blues or fingerpicking boxes, but will do the fun-and-strum thing decently if you're willing to use a medium or lighter flatpick.

Repairs included: This one got a lot! Ancel reset the neck, replaced a missing brace on top, reglued a number of braces on top, and then replaced missing back braces with "strapping" brace stock instead. Seams got fixed, it got a level/dress of the frets from Sarah, and then Jose finished it up with a new, compensated rosewood bridge and setup work. It's playing spot-on and ready to sere.
