1959 Epiphone E422T Century Hollowbody Electric Guitar (Modded)

Overview: This was built after Gibson acquired Epiphone and has a Gibson-made body with an older, Epiphone-made neck mated to it. The pickups are both replacements and the wiring harness is non-original. It's a killer guitar for someone into chord-chopping or strumming backup because that Japanese-made neck pickup ('60s-era) sounds terrific -- clean, almost Stratty, and almost Dano-toned. The P90, of course, sounds like a P90 -- aggressive and with a snarly twang at the bridge position.

Interesting features: The modding bit of it is curious but it's also got "just enough wear" to feel right at home anywhere. The neck is classic Epiphone, with a narrower nut but deeper, V-shaped profile to the rear.

Repairs included: I'd previously helped the owner wire-in a replacement neck pickup but this time around I fixed a ground issue and Sarah gave it a level/dress of the frets, setup, and fitting of an ABR-style bridge to replace a (replacement) non-adjustable archtop-style saddle.

Condition notes: It's got scratches, nicks, and dings here and there throughout. The finish has weather-checking throughout. The tuners, wiring harness, pickups, and bridge are all unoriginal. There's a repaired hairline crack in the neck running from the heel area but it's stable and good to go.

It comes with: Sorry, no case.
