1970s Viletta Laud-Like 6-String Terz Guitar
Overview: This adorable thing came in as a trade. It looks a lot like a Philippines-style laud but appears to bear no relation (playing-wise) to one and was strung-up as a mini-guitar when it arrived. I've modified its bracing to eliminate two extra braces on the lower bout and set it up like a high-tuned mini classical guitar with "terz" tuning (GCFBbDG low to high, like guitar with a capo on 3). It's got a lovely, sweet sound with natural "reverb" and would make a perfect couch-potato, travel, or renaissance faire-worthy buddy.
Interesting features: All of it is interesting -- I mean, come on? Tailpiece-load classical? Mini-laud body? Weird soundholes? I love it.
Repairs included: I fixed some top cracks and modded the bracing and Max gave it a level/dress of the frets, side dots, and set it up. It's playing nice and quick and ready to go.
