2010 Tokai ES-185 (335-Style) Semihollow Electric Guitar
Overview: This is a Japanese-made Tokai of the modern flavoring -- uncovered buckers (it appears to be the stock ones but with the covers removed as there's wax potting on the tops) but otherwise fairly '60s-style in specs, with a 1 5/8" nut width and early-'60s-ish, medium-C neck profile that gets a bit deeper as it gets closer to the heel. It feels like home to me! The build quality is nice, the weight is quite good, and it has a great feel and sound. It's a little darker-sounding and hotter than straight-up '60s-style buckers but, as you can hear, it has a good, even sound. It's also easy on the eyes with all of that figured maple veneer.
Update to description: I was unaware of this, but this guitar originally shipped from the factory with a gloss lacquer finish. The finish has been dulled by a previous owner with what looks like 0000 steel wool around the pots to give it more of a "vintage" look and the rest of the finish has swirl marks from, likely, a medium-high-grit polishing pad that took down the gloss a bit. It certainly "looks" vintage at a glance. I was told it had been "sanded" by a previous buyer but that's not the case -- it's just been dulled-down. My mistake for not looking closely enough!
Repairs included: Sarah gave this a level/dress of the frets, restring, and setup. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: The original finish is extant but it has been dulled quite a bit from the gloss it originally was. I was unaware of that when I first listed this and assumed that it had been shot semi-gloss to give it a vintage look and then played-in a bit. Note my update to the description above. There's some pickwear on the pickguard and a few deeper small scratches or dings here and there on the body but they're not obvious. The buckers have had their covers removed.
It comes with: It's got a, presumably original, hard case.
