2010s Angel Lopez EC3000 Modded Thinline Resonator Classical Guitar
Overview: I made this up for myself out of a newer (but beat-up) acoustic/electric classical guitar for a family trip a little bit ago. I like it best in open tunings (where the resonator sustain and oddities really shine) but it also sounds great in standard. It's quite banjo-like in tone and has about the same volume as a smaller, 3/4 size acoustic classical guitar but with a much more midsy, snappy, bite. I think it's great as a gypsy-jazz-sounding, lead-oriented guitar, too, as with a pick it definitely punches a lot more than with bare fingers.
Interesting features: What isn't weird about it? It started life as a chambered, thinline, acoustic/electric classical with a glued-on, tie-block bridge and piezo saddle element. I drilled-out the whole midsection, installed a "Jake-style" resonator setup -- this is a T-shaped bridge fit on top of an inverted, National-style cone (pictures below) -- made a tailpiece that bolts through the coverplate like a resonator ukulele tail, yanked out all the old wiring and filled the old jack hole at the 3/4 position on the side, used the old wiring port as a "sound port" on the shoulder, and set it all up with medium-tension strings. It's now something completely different from what it was and, while it's now completely acoustic, I think the thinbody, tough-as-nails, lightweight, road-ready format is pretty fun and useful. It also sounds tres cool behind a mic and on recordings -- it has a sound midway between a lot of guitar tones.
Repairs included: It got the noted conversion details, modding, and setup work. It's playing spot-on and is ready to serve!

Condition notes: Note that in the video I have a borrowed National coverplate on it, but since then I fit a spare coverplate from my parts-bins that used to have wiring installed in it -- so it has some peculiar, patched extra holes. Also, the guitar itself has a lot of light to medium scratches and scuffs here and there throughout. The tuners (Martin-branded) are unoriginal (it came with broken ones). All of the conversion elements are, obviously, unoriginal as well.
It comes with: If I have a spare gigbag I will include it.
