1962 Supro Belmont (National) Electric Guitar
Overview: How cool is mother-of-toilet-seat pinky-red for a body wrap? This thing is eye-catching and all of us in the shop had to stop for a moment to appreciate it when it came in. This instrument is sort-of like National's take on a Les Paul Jr, with a single pickup at the bridge and a deco-looking, single-cut body style. It's got a Gibson-style scale length, too, and comes-in just under 7 lbs so it's comfy for longer gigs. The controls are simple tone/volume but it has a tone-bypass switch which allows you to basically have one setting with the tone rolled-off as a "neck" sound and the other as a wide-open "bridge" sound -- like an Esquire.
Repairs included: Sarah planed the board level and refretted it (like many of these, the neck had warped as it aged) and then cleaned it up and set it up. It's playing spot-on and is ready to serve. The new frets give it a modern feel and lighter touch compared to the tiny vintage frets that are normally on these... though the neck is still on the fatter side front-to-back!

Condition notes: It's in good shape and completely original throughout except for a couple of string trees added at the headstock (the headstock angle is so low that these are often required to make old National/Valco guitars work as they should). Oh -- and the frets are new, too, and we added side dots. There's mild wear throughout the body and neck -- light scuffs, scratches -- but nothing serious.
It comes with: It has a chip case.
