1972 Alvarez 5067 000-Size Guitar

Overview: This is a nicer-than-average Alvarez for the '70s. It's got good tuners, a solid top, and a curvier 000-size body shape that makes it one of those "jacks of all trades" flattops. The sound is warm and woody with decent punch. It's x-braced and handles a lot like a period Martin in the neck and has styling cues similar to Martins as well. Interestingly, it has a zero fret, but during the level/dress process I made sure that it was set to the same height/level as the rest of the frets so it works optimally.

Repairs included: Some time ago, I leveled/dressed the frets, reworked the bridge and saddle a bit, and set it up. It's been playing nicely since then and has come back, 8 years later, in the same shape.

Condition notes: It's got a fair amount of small nicks, dings, and scratches. There's "ghosting" to the top layer of finish clearcoat in much of the sides and some of the back, but it's dappled rather than everywhere. The bridge is lightly-shaved and the saddle is rather low, but it's been stable like this for years.

It comes with: It has a good, older hard case.
