1977 Fender Musicmaster Electric Bass Guitar

A local friend of the shop brought this bass in. He'd picked it up from a friend of his and it arrived heavily-used, grungy, and with a badly-warped neck. Jose gave the neck a board plane and refret with jumbo stock, repaired the wiring, cleaned it up a ton, set it up and adjusted the fit of the replacement pickup. I showed him how I bend the intonation adjustment screws for the saddles to allow them to tilt at an angle and give better compensation for the strings, too. Lastly, it got a couple of not-correct -- but fun -- knobs.

It's lightweight, sounds big and punchy, and has a glorious feel. All of that "lived-in-charm" gives it good looks, too.
