2011 Taylor TF Custom Acoustic/Electric Guitar

I've known this guitar for a while (about a decade?) and I knew that, when my friend Mike brought it back here for consignment, that it wouldn't last long. I hadn't even snapped photos when it got snagged by a local buddy of the shop, two days into being out on the racks!

These TF (twelve fret) Taylors in this size and with rosewood-y backs are interesting beasts in that they sound an awful lot more like a sweet old Martin 000-28 than your usual Taylor fare. The sound is mellower and sweeter and more "old-fashioned" but the mids are definitely more-present and even than you find in Martins.

Suffice to say, the last time I saw this guitar it was in mint condition and this time around it was the same. I only had to put new strings on it -- it was still playing spot-on from the last time I set it up!
