1960s ODE Longneck Openback 5-String Banjo

This instrument got snagged a few days after going out on the floor but before I had a chance to list it online. It's an ODE longneck from the mid-'60s, per my guesstimate of its features. These were nicely-made and the shop was a fairly small operation before it got sold to Baldwin in '66s. Some original builders from ODE moved-on to from OME, which has had long legs in the boutique banjo world.

It has an unusual, one-piece, aluminum rim design with an archtop-style tonering which gives it plenty of clarity and pop. It sounds very Seeger and the low tuning has that nice, kerrang sound to it with just the right amount of chime.

As I recall, Max leveled/dressed the frets on this one and set it up. I fit some 5th string capos before it left the shop. Per the usual, the bridge got some extra compensation as well.
