1967 Gibson RB-175 Longneck 5-String Banjo
Overview: We have had a lot of Gibson longneck banjos through the shop over the years. This one is just like the others -- tough as nails, almost-ready when it arrived, and with a good, sustained, burr to its sound that's very pleasing. They have simple hoop tonerings but the quality of the neck, heavy-duty ply maple of the rim, and general build make them feel and punch way above their market price. This one sold in-shop pretty quickly.
Repairs included: Max gave this a level/dress of the frets and a setup, I tweaked the tailpiece hanger area by adding a dedicated endbolt/hanger shoe, and it's ready to go.

Condition notes: Some of the tuner buttons are mismatched and it has a later, geared 5th peg installed The head is worn and there's wear to the finish here and there throughout (mostly at the headstock edges). The armrest is unoriginal and I relocated and added the endbolt/tailpiece hanger setup so that one can easily adjust the lower coordinator rod nuts under the tailpiece without having to remove the tailpiece. The L-bracket used for that traditionally on these was dented and damaged anyhow.
It comes with: It has an original chip case.
