2007 Altamira M01 Selmer-Mac-Style Gypsy-Jazz Guitar

Overview: Altamira guitars are made in a small shop in China -- much like how the early Eastman shop operated. This is a very well-made, high-quality instrument and, when you dig into it, it has enormous volume and punch and sounds and feels very authentic. It's far better than many of the Selmer lookalikes being made today in the same price range from other import shops. I'm impressed! And -- yes -- this is a copycat of a "Petit Bouche" Selmer-Maccaferri-style guitar -- the same type that Django Reinhardt, among many others, used for gypsy-jazz. It currently has a straight set of nickel-wound strings on it, but if it had some Savarez, silvered-copper-wound strings on it, it would sound even more on point.

Repairs included: Max gave it a level/dress of the frets and setup work. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: It's been played and while the top doesn't necessarily show it, the finish is chipped-out along the back edge of the guitar near the endblock. It has a couple of small, repaired hairline cracks on either side of the tailpiece on the top, too. There are minor scuffs and scratches here and there throughout and a little bit of disturbance near the bridge from here the wings were taken-off and needed to be reglued.

It comes with: It has a nice hard case!
