1935 Kalamazoo KG-21 (Gibson) Archtop Guitar

Overview: It's pretty hard to argue with a KG-21. It has the cool L-00 body shape and, with the arched top and deeper body, it's very similar to same-period L-30. These Kalamazoo, pressed-top archtops are built with very thin spruce tops that ride on somewhat-tall, thicker bracing. The magic is that they tend to sound warmer than the comparable, carved-top Gibson models but have less overall punch in the upper-mids and highs and so are more-suited to chordal backup roles or country-blues fingerpicking and whatnot. I've always been a fan of this model and have owned a bunch of them over the years...

Repairs included: I gave it a neck reset and Jose gave it a level/dress of the frets, cleaning, and setup work. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: There's a repaired small crack on the upper-bout top. There's tons of light scratches, nicks, and dings here and there throughout the finish. The finish is all weather-checked. Still, the colors are nice and crisp instead of super-faded like a lot of these are. It's completely original throughout except for the side dots and endpin strap button we added.

It comes with: As I recall, this has a funky old chip case.
