1960s Kay Archtop Hollowbody Rubber-bridge Electric Bass conversion

Overview: This is an old Kay electric archtop guitar I bought off a local fella. It had a funkily-warped neck and I set Jose to the task of converting it to one of our rubber bridge bass mods. He did a stellar job and it turned into a heck of a player and, of course, sounds brilliant. This sold in-shop before I even had a chance to list it, as many of these guys do. They're popular! The fuller C-shaped neck and curvy fretboard on these guys works well as bass adaptations and the original single coil pickup on this guy has the sort-of upright-like dark and thunky tone that suits the use. The rubber bridge element removes the out-of-tune/seasick feel that a lot of ultra-short-scale basses have and so intonation is great and it's hard to put it out of tune when fretting.

Repairs included: This got a ton! It's had a neck reset, board planed and refret, wiring harness update, and all the conversion work -- making a custom adjustable rubber-saddle bridge (with steel base), headstock mod, tailpiece install, and the like. Jose did all of the work and it turned-out beautifully.
