1970s Gibson Dove Dreadnought Guitar
Overview: This is a killer old Dove and, per its serial, dates to the early-mid '70s. Post-repairs, it's turned into a fantastic-sounding instrument that's also a great player as well. These guitars have a sound that's a bit of Gibson mixed with a bit of Martin D-18, as the bracing pattern and scale was changed for these '70s models to line-up more with a Martin vibe. The neck's faster than a Martin-style dreadnought, though, and it has more of a balanced, non-mids-scooped sound. It's quite punchy, too, and the fact of the matter is that it looks amazing, right?
Repairs included: It had a bad neck angle, hairline-cracked replacement bridge, and fretwork and setup work needing to be done, for sure. I reset the neck with some help provided by Jose (it's glued and also bolted internally at the neckblock as these '70s neck joints on Gibsons are a little so-so) and then Ancel took it from there, giving it a good level/dress of the frets and then fitting a beautiful, reproduction-ish bridge that fit the outline of the old replacement bridge's glue-footing. His work here is excellent and he even went to the trouble to make and fit the nice pearl inlays for the wings. It's playing spot-on and ready to go!

It comes with: It has an old hard case -- presumably original.
