1920s Kamaka Pineapple Koa Ukulele

Overview: This is a pretty fascinating old Kamaka with an older repair history and an excellent, clean, "island" sound with maybe a bit less straight-up sparkle and a little more mellow warmth. I'm a fanboy for Kamakas so you'll always find me excited by them. This one is very typical for their '20s and '30s output -- not entirely symmetrical and a little clunkily-folksy in styling but comfortable and quick in the neck and built thin and light for excellent sound. Plus, it's got the classic "shield" headstock shape and my favorite body shape on a uke -- pineapple.

Repairs included: Jose gave it a level/dress of the frets, reshaped the front of the bridge to improve intonation and action height, and set it up. He also replaced a missing 12th fret, too. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: The current owner bought it "as-is" with a lot of repairs done. The dark streaks in the finish are actually cracks that were filled at some point with tinted epoxy. The whole instrument has also been buffed down to a sort of satin finish rather than the streaky, brushed, gloss varnish it would originally have looked-like. The tuners are period but likely not original to the instrument.

It comes with: It's got a gigbag.
