1920s/2020s Yosco/Brooks Colossus 5-String Conversion Banjo

I was going to post this banjo almost a month ago in October, but it got snagged and taken-home before I had a chance!

It's a melding of a 1920s Yosco Colossus banjo rim (with the double-wall construction) and a modern, Brooks 5-string neck. Brooks made a few of these up, apparently, and this one was lucky-enough to come our way for consignment. I've always enjoyed all the Brooks banjos coming through the shop.

As you might expect for such a large and strange rim, the tone is on the darker and warmer side which suits "modern old-time" players perfectly.

Just for giggles, click here for an old post on what the original tenor banjo version of this instrument would have looked like...
