1950s/60s Vibratone/Mixed Cocktail Drum Kit

Ancel's buddy Sasha has started to bring some percussion into the shop for sale, lately. He's a vintage-drum explorer/collector/teaker and he made-up this cocktail kit to bring over here. It's a fun little thing and I especially like the mix of snap from that little snare next to the full sound of the rest of the kit. It's very retro.

It consists of:

  • 20x13 3/4" Vibratone bass drum (late '50s/early '60s) w/Rogers 50s clamps
  • 16x15 1/2" Vibratone  floor tom (late '50s/early '60s, on legs)
  • 13x9" '40s/'50s unknown-brand floor tom
  • '50s WFL 13x3" piccolo snare
  • '50s 12" Ufip hi-hats w/WFL hi-hat stand
  • '50s Ufip 13" splash/ride
  • '60s Ludwig Speed King kick pedal
  • recent PDP rack tom stand
All the shells are wrapped in white pearl save the snare which is a kick-butt sparkle gold. Sasha noted a little quirky handling with the old bass drum hardware for the tension hoop on the front face.
