1965 Guild D40 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar

Overview: Who can argue with a good D40? These '60s ones sound big and full and work anywhere you might stick a D-18 or D-28. I find them a little warmer than a period D-18 but punchier and less "stone thrown in deep water" than a period D-28. This one has obviously lived a bit of a hard life in the past (tiny patched punctures in the upper bout, plenty of playwear, hairline cracks on the back) but that has been tempered by a bunch of good, recent repairs and the owner's care and feeding.

Repairs included: This fella was recently worked-on by Cat Fox and, among other things, it looks like it got a neck reset, new frets, a new saddle, and some crack repairs done. It arrived here in good order and just needing the mildest setup adjustments. It's playing spot-on and ready to serve.
