1968 Martin D-35 Dreadnought Guitar

Overview: D-35s with Brazilian rosewood do not come around the shop very often, though we see a healthy dose of early-'70s ones each year. This one has a full, wide sound to it and a good, comfy, easy-to-live-with neck profile. It has a bit of play under its belt and shows some of that wear and tear, but overall it's a pretty glorious-looking guitar. Who doesn't love the look of that UV-lightened, creamier-looking rosewood? It pops all the darker grain out nicely.

Repairs included: This got a fresh Martin-style ebony bridge, new bone saddle, level/dress of the frets, and setup work -- and I think Jose did most or all of the work. It'd previously had a new pickguard fit and some finish touch-ups to pickwear near the soundhole. It's playing spot-on and ready to go.

Condition notes: The pickguard, bridge, and saddle are replacements and the pins might be. There's an added strap button at the heel. The finish has aged-in to a buttery-yellow color to the clearcoat on top and the rosewood back and sides are a lot milkier/lighter in the finish with UV exposure. There's light weather-checking to the finish here and there and some darker spots on the top finish. There are small scratches, nicks, and dings here and there but none of them obvious The binding at the neck has a few small cracks in it here and there.

It comes with: It has a good, non-original, hard case.
